Evan & Blake's Wedding Day

I'm sorry I've been so bad about updates. I'm going to blame it on now having two kids.

Getting Ready

The bridal party was getting ready at the Argue's and the guys were eating lunch, watching football and getting ready at Evan and Blake's. The day didn't start off too well. First, the make-up artist got in a car accident that morning and ended up at the hospital. She was fine and the guy doing our hair was able to find a fill in at the last minute.

Jud's parents were going to watch Miller and Miles for the day and bring them to the church later. Right as Jud and I were getting ready to leave the house, Miller fell. He was just running from the kitchen to the living room (bare feet on the wood floor) and fell. He didn't trip on anything, just fell. As I ran into the room, I saw Jud's dad lean over and pick something up off the floor and say, "Well, he knocked out a tooth.". Yep, Miller hit the floor and knocked out one of his top front teeth. He was a little shaken up and I was even worse. I felt so horrible that I had such a bad reaction. I knew that he was ok, but I think the stress of the wedding and the fact that I knew that he wouldn't have a tooth for the next however many years ... I just couldn't keep it together. We finally both calmed down and I headed over to my parents once Miller was back to himself. So, yep, the ring bearer was going to be missing a tooth and have a busted lip. It could have been much worse. At least he was ok and it was great that Dentist Grandpa Max was there to tell us that we just needed to go to a dentist sometime that next week.

I was so proud of Evan and her temperament during the wedding weekend. Even with these two wedding day hiccups she stayed calm, happy and no where near a bridezilla (even though she looks like one in the picture below).

The bride getting beautiful.

Going to the chapel and she's going to get married...

Blake and Jud getting ready.

The boys watching football before they headed to the church.

Super cute and you can't even see the injury in this picture. Don't worry, I fixed his hair when he got to the church.

I'm putting on Blake's corsage.

The girls in our robes from Evan - super cute!

Miller with Noni and JoJo.

After the ceremony with Max and Mary.

I love our little family!

The Reception

Evan & Blake cutting the cake. They had no idea what they were doing.

Me with my beautiful parents. Check out the grooms cake in the background. Rah Rah TCU!!!

The beautiful couple!

Don't try this at home.

Miller was the star of the dance floor. I'm not sure he should learn his moves from JoJo though.

Me and my dancing boy. Look how sweaty he was.

All the TCU grads. Go Frogs!

Evan & Blake's Wedding - Friday

The day before the wedding was packed full of activities. The girls headed to a bridal luncheon while of course the guys played golf.

Bridal Luncheon

Evan with all of her bridesmaids and house party at the luncheon. It was at The Vine Wine Room on Memorial which was a perfect place. The food was brought over by their sister/neighbor restaurant Two Saints.

I also helped host the luncheon along with my mom's closest friends. This is me, Evan and my mom with the other three hosts that were there (from left: Debbie, Connie and Donna). I love how this picture really captures how the room looked. The flowers were absolutely beautiful - thanks Debbie and Connie!

I ordered cake balls for dessert and they were so pretty and absolutely delicious. The lady is in League City, but she delivers for a small fee (angiescake.com). I would highly recommend and I'm placing a second order for a shower soon.

Golf

The guys headed to Blackhorse Golf Club early that morning and had tons of fun playing golf. Here is typical Blake :)

Blake and best friend Blake #2 (that's what Miller calls him; he's also Jud's cousin).

Ricky and Jud. We are so glad they got to come down and join in the festivities. We have so much fun with Ricky and Shae and wish we got to spend more time with them!

Rehearsal

The groomsmen all lined up with Evan directing.

Miles chilling in a pew. He is such a good baby and so easy going.

Practicing the walk back down the aisle.

Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsal dinner was at Escalante's (of course Mexican). It was a perfect place since it was so close to the church and basically in CityCentre where everyone was staying. It was a bit loud though.

Miller with a table centerpiece on his head.

The bride and groom getting roasted. Actually everyone held back and didn't embarrass them too much.

Sisters... I love this picture and I'm going to have to frame it. This was right after I gave my speech. Of course I cried which made her cry.

Evan & Blake's Wedding - Thursday

Evan and Blake got married on September 25. I was the Matron of Honor (sounds so old), Jud was a Groomsman and Miller was the Ring Bearer. All the festivities were so much fun! Everything started on Thursday when friends and family started arriving in town. The first event was a nail party for Evan and the bridesmaids to get mani's and pedi's. Then we headed to Goode Company BBQ for a casual dinner for everyone who had arrived already. So fun!
Nail party...complete with drinks. From left: Evan, Bridesmaid Amanda, Bridesmaid Emily and me. The other bridesmaids Karen, Katie and Charlotte were also there.

We had the balcony at Goode Company. Yummy BBQ - my favorite!

The Argue's best family friends Donna and Bob.

Hunting?

I'm not a huge fan of hunting, but living in Texas it's everywhere. I've explained to Jud that he already has two hobbies that take a lot of money and time away from the family (golf and cycling) and that adding another (hunting) to the mix just isn't going to happen. However, I am ok with him going on one or two trips a year. He was invited down to the King Ranch by a bank they do business with and Jud, Jimmy and Key all went on the two night boondoggle. They hunted quite a bit of dove and I'm looking forward to some bacon-wrapped dove in the future.

Jud shot a wild hog that was roughly 200 pounds. So stinkin' ugly.

Jimmy and Key each shot a Nilgai which is in the antelope family, but is also compared to a cow. They are apparently really fast.

Growing...

Sorry I haven't updated the blog in so long. We've had lots going on. I'm going to try to update what's been going on over the last month soon, I promise.

Anyway, on Sept 17 we took both boys to the Doctor for check-ups (Miller - 3 years and Miles - 2 months). Jud came with me as I didn't want Miller to see Miles getting his shots. Once Miller was done Jud took him to school.

Miller weighed 39.5 pounds (>95%) and was 3 feet 4.5 inches tall (>95%). He didn't need any shots except a flu shot. He didn't even know he was going to get a shot and didn't see it coming so he didn't even cry. He's such a big boy!

Miles was just shy of 14 pounds (94%) and was 25.5 inches tall (>95%). He's a big boy. Everyone keeps asking me so let's compare. At 2 months, Miller was 12 pounds 7 ounces and 24.75 inches long. Yep, Miles has Miller beat. Miles got three shots. He whimpered with the first, cried with the second and screamed with the third. Luckily he was easy to settle down and didn't really have any bad reactions during the next few days.
