Pumpkin Patch

A photographer friend of a friend in Katy, Kami's Kandid Shots, ran a super cheap ($30 for half an hour) pumpkin patch special. I decided to take advantage of it and we drove out there.

The boys did great and she got some great pictures. Some of these may even make an appearance on our Christmas card.

I love how she edited some of these.

Miles - 15 Months

Miles was 15 months old on October 12th. He is still growing like a weed. At his check-up he was 35 3/4 inches (still off the charts) and 28 pounds 8 ounces (98%). He is no longer a baby but a toddler now (especially since he looks 2 1/2). He loves to walk everywhere and is talking so much more now. He basically says a new word every day. He loves his big brother and is still a mama's boy. His separation anxiety is much better now and he is doing great at his two days of Mother's Day Out. I just love the smile I get when I pick him up. Unfortunately, with school comes sickness and we've had a lot of that lately. In the last six weeks both boys have had two stomach bugs, hand, foot and mouth disease and a cold. We just can't catch a break.

Here are some cute pictures we took when we went to a picnic with our church group. They both loved exploring this new and different park.

Soccer

Miller is now playing soccer. He's on a team with lots of his friends and is loving every minute of it. Jud is an assistant coach. The head coach let the kids pick the name the team and they came up with Fire Dragon Horses.

This is right before his first ever organized sports game.
With Assistant Coach Daddy.
They have ten players on the team and five play at a time. Here is half the team sitting on the "bench" watching the game. I just love that our team got their names put on the jerseys - so cute!
Miller's little girlfriend Hannah, scored the first goal of the game. They were so excited.
This is one of my favorite pictures. Both teams say a prayer together at the end of the game. I love that he has his head bowed and eyes closed.
The parents make a tunnel for all the kids to run through after the game. Miller loves every minute of it.
So, watching 4 year-olds play soccer is exactly what you would imagine...unorganized. They hardly know which way to kick the ball. During this first game, Miller just ran with the pack. Actually, he ran ahead of the pack (he's pretty fast and did not get that from us), but not after the ball at all. He figured it all out during the second game and has scored a goal or two at each game since then.

The team chant is Fire Dragon Horses are the best team ever! Unfortunately, we are not the best team ever. I think we've won three of our five games (even though we don't keep score).

Go Frogs!

In mid-September Jud, Miller and I headed up to Fort Worth for the weekend. We left Miles at my parents since he's not a huge fan of the car and isn't quite ready for a TCU football game. Our good friends Ricky and Shae had baby Amelia on July 30th and since they live in Kansas City, we had yet to meet her. They were coming to Ft. Worth for a TCU Alumni meeting and bringing Amelia so of course we decided to head that way too.

Meeting Amelia for the first time...at Uncle Julio's of course! She is so precious and looks just like her daddy!
After dinner we went to Ricky and Shae's hotel in the Stockyards to hang out for a bit and Miller got to hold Amelia.
We stayed at our friends Maggie and Micah's (thanks so much guys!) and Miller got to play with his buddy Eli (not sure why we don't have any pictures with them). Saturday morning we met Ricky and Shae at Yogi's for a yummy breakfast. Here are Ricky and Miller clowning around.
The game was at 1:00 and boy was it hot - 95 degrees. Here is a view of the stadium from our seats. The stadium is currently under construction as you can see on the right (upper deck not finished). We walked over there and its like a construction zone. They only have a few tents selling concessions out of coolers.Miller showing his Frog pride!
I love this picture of the group - framer! Too bad you can only see Amelia's feet popping out of the sling.
