Pumpkin Patch

A photographer friend of a friend in Katy, Kami's Kandid Shots, ran a super cheap ($30 for half an hour) pumpkin patch special. I decided to take advantage of it and we drove out there.

The boys did great and she got some great pictures. Some of these may even make an appearance on our Christmas card.

I love how she edited some of these.

Miles - 15 Months

Miles was 15 months old on October 12th. He is still growing like a weed. At his check-up he was 35 3/4 inches (still off the charts) and 28 pounds 8 ounces (98%). He is no longer a baby but a toddler now (especially since he looks 2 1/2). He loves to walk everywhere and is talking so much more now. He basically says a new word every day. He loves his big brother and is still a mama's boy. His separation anxiety is much better now and he is doing great at his two days of Mother's Day Out. I just love the smile I get when I pick him up. Unfortunately, with school comes sickness and we've had a lot of that lately. In the last six weeks both boys have had two stomach bugs, hand, foot and mouth disease and a cold. We just can't catch a break.

Here are some cute pictures we took when we went to a picnic with our church group. They both loved exploring this new and different park.

Soccer

Miller is now playing soccer. He's on a team with lots of his friends and is loving every minute of it. Jud is an assistant coach. The head coach let the kids pick the name the team and they came up with Fire Dragon Horses.

This is right before his first ever organized sports game.
With Assistant Coach Daddy.
They have ten players on the team and five play at a time. Here is half the team sitting on the "bench" watching the game. I just love that our team got their names put on the jerseys - so cute!
Miller's little girlfriend Hannah, scored the first goal of the game. They were so excited.
This is one of my favorite pictures. Both teams say a prayer together at the end of the game. I love that he has his head bowed and eyes closed.
The parents make a tunnel for all the kids to run through after the game. Miller loves every minute of it.
So, watching 4 year-olds play soccer is exactly what you would imagine...unorganized. They hardly know which way to kick the ball. During this first game, Miller just ran with the pack. Actually, he ran ahead of the pack (he's pretty fast and did not get that from us), but not after the ball at all. He figured it all out during the second game and has scored a goal or two at each game since then.

The team chant is Fire Dragon Horses are the best team ever! Unfortunately, we are not the best team ever. I think we've won three of our five games (even though we don't keep score).

Go Frogs!

In mid-September Jud, Miller and I headed up to Fort Worth for the weekend. We left Miles at my parents since he's not a huge fan of the car and isn't quite ready for a TCU football game. Our good friends Ricky and Shae had baby Amelia on July 30th and since they live in Kansas City, we had yet to meet her. They were coming to Ft. Worth for a TCU Alumni meeting and bringing Amelia so of course we decided to head that way too.

Meeting Amelia for the first time...at Uncle Julio's of course! She is so precious and looks just like her daddy!
After dinner we went to Ricky and Shae's hotel in the Stockyards to hang out for a bit and Miller got to hold Amelia.
We stayed at our friends Maggie and Micah's (thanks so much guys!) and Miller got to play with his buddy Eli (not sure why we don't have any pictures with them). Saturday morning we met Ricky and Shae at Yogi's for a yummy breakfast. Here are Ricky and Miller clowning around.
The game was at 1:00 and boy was it hot - 95 degrees. Here is a view of the stadium from our seats. The stadium is currently under construction as you can see on the right (upper deck not finished). We walked over there and its like a construction zone. They only have a few tents selling concessions out of coolers.Miller showing his Frog pride!
I love this picture of the group - framer! Too bad you can only see Amelia's feet popping out of the sling.

On the Field

One of Jud's best friends, Jon, invited Jud to the Texans vs. Colts game. He had special passes where they could go on the field during warm-ups. What a great experience!

Doesn't it look like Jud is actually playing and about to tackle him?
Here is the view from their seats. How cool is that flag? It was white out day so everyone has white on.

Miller's First Field Trip

This year Miller's class will go on a field trip every month and they had their first one a few weeks ago. They had a family picnic at a nearby park. The kids rode the bus and all the parents met them at the park. In class the day before, they made us sandwiches - so cute.

Miller running from the bus to greet us.

The class lined up ready to get back on the bus.

Labor Day in Durango

We spent five days in Durango over Labor Day weekend with my family and had a fabulous time. It was so nice to get out of the heat. We packed in as many things as we could while we are there so this post will be pretty long.

The Durango airport has two fun photo ops. Here is Jud and Miller on a "ski lift".

Miller "snowboarding" at the airport.

My parents rented this awesome house for the family. With the kids, it's the perfect way to travel. You have a full kitchen and you aren't stuck in a hotel room while the kids are napping or when they go to bed early.
On Friday, we all took the narrow gauge steam railroad built in 1882 from Durango to Silverton. What a great day. If you are going to Durango, I would highly recommend it. I took this picture of the train at the station in Durango.

Jud and Miles ready to get on the train.
Miller getting on the train with Noni and JoJo.
We sat in the Prospector car. It had tables and chairs along with snacks and soft drinks.
Miller had so much fun on the train. He likes to put his sunglasses on top of his head like mommy.
Daddy and the boys looking out the window. This picture was taken out the window from the other end of the car. No worries, I was holding on tight to Miles. Too bad we couldn't get him to look down to the camera.
Gorgeous views from the train - just breathtaking.
Miller out on the deck of the car checking out the river.

The cute town of Silverton. We had a few hours to eat lunch and walk around before we boarded the bus back to Durango.
Miles hanging out at the house. Super cute in his hoodie.
Jud got to play golf twice at Glacier Club. Here he is with my dad and Blake on the first day they played. Look at those views from the golf course.

While the guys were playing golf we took the boys to Durango Mountain (formally Purgatory) to eat lunch and enjoy the beautiful weather. Miller ran around in the grassy area at the bottom of the lifts for over an hour.

After golf, the guys met us at the mountain. We rode the chair lift up and Miller was giddy for his first time on a lift. Then we took the Alpine sled down. Miller rode with Jud and I raced them. I think this was his favorite part of the trip. Next time we will have to buy a pass where you can go as many times as you want to.
We ate lots of meals at Glacier Club out on their beautiful patio. Here is the whole group before dinner one night. This picture has great potential to be on the Argue Christmas card.

Sweet Miles at dinner. He's SO BIG!

Jud and Blake went fly fishing for the first time one morning with a guide. They caught a bunch of little fish, nothing big enough to keep. They had a lot of fun and said it's something they will for sure do again when we go back.

Blake, Evan and Noni went horseback riding one morning so we decided to take the boys on a hike. We borrowed a backpack from some friends and strapped Miles to Jud. We chose an easy hike with not too much elevation change since we had the boys. We were gone for almost two hours and the boys did great. We all really enjoyed it.
Here are the boys with Noni and JoJo just before we left. They are wearing the birthday shirts that Noni and JoJo give them every year. Thanks so much for a great trip! We had so much fun and can't wait to spend more time up there.
